Kate Boag is Sydney-based Australian painter. Following her education at a Steiner school, she went on to study Bachelor of Natural History lllustration at the University of Newcastle (2015). This training in scientific and precise illustration work gave her a strongly developed eye for accuracy and precision in her art making. Following graduation, she attended the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney where she developed her skills of observation and traditional techniques of oil painting before branching out and exploring looser forms of painting. Kate’s works are predominantly created in oils, using the natural world as inspiration. Landscapes are a favourite subject with forests making a regular appearance. She has worked with many other mediums in the past but always returns to oils for their flexibility and strength of colour. |
